Nissan has unveiled the latest version of its Kicks SUV before its official debut at the 2024 New York International Auto Show. The carmaker has been testing prototypes of the new model for months and has now revealed the production-ready version, which boasts significant design changes compared to its predecessor.
Having previously discontinued the Kicks SUV in India due to lackluster sales in 2023, Nissan may reintroduce the model as the SUV segment continues to thrive in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets. The updated Nissan Kicks showcases a revamped design, with a chunky front grille in place of the signature V-Motion grille, along with narrowed headlights and a clean front profile.
The new Nissan Kicks features a refreshed side profile with aero wheels, aluminum-finished skid plates, and elegant character lines. The SUV sports a dual-tone theme and a fluid roof design with a floating pattern leading to an integrated spoiler at the rear. Additionally, the vehicle presents more prominent vertically oriented LED taillights, contributing to a larger and more upright overall appearance.
While specific specifications are yet to be disclosed, Nissan has indicated that the new Kicks offers increased dimensions, providing additional shoulder room for passengers, enhanced knee room for rear occupants, and expanded cargo space. Inside the cabin, notable features include a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a seven-inch instrument cluster, and optional amenities such as a 360-degree surround-view camera, a Bose 10-speaker audio system, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and advanced safety features like automatic emergency braking and lane departure warnings included in the Safety Shield 360 System.
Under the hood, the new Nissan Kicks is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine generating 140 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque. Equipped with a CVT transmission and an AWD system distributing power to all four wheels, the SUV is expected to offer multiple driving modes to enhance performance and versatility.
