2024 Suzuki Swift to Launch in Country Ahead of India Release

Suzuki has recently introduced the 2024 Swift in Japan, and soon it will be available for purchase in the UK and Republic of Ireland starting in April 2024. The Indian market can also look forward to the 2024 Swift hitting the shelves in the upcoming months. The UK version of the Swift boasts some differences compared to the model bound for the Indian market.

Suzuki is set to offer the Swift in two variants: Motion and Ultra. The Motion variant will include features like 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, navigation, rear view camera, rear parking sensors, Adaptive Cruise Control, wireless smartphone link display audio, keyless entry & start, Driver Monitoring System, Dual Sensor Brake Support (upgraded), Lane Departure Warning and Weaving Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor, and improved Traffic Sign Recognition. On the other hand, the Ultra variant will come with additional features such as 16-inch polished alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning, rear passenger heater outlet, and electric folding door mirrors with side turn indicators.

The new Swift will be powered by a Z12E, three-cylinder engine to replace the existing K12D, four-cylinder engine, maintaining the same 1,200 cc cubic capacity. Suzuki declares that the new engine is 8% more fuel-efficient and can be paired with a CVT automatic transmission for both variants. An optional AllGrip all-wheel drive system will be available for Ultra variants with a manual gearbox later this year, featuring wider tyres at the front and rear and an increased ride height to enhance ground clearance.

To boost fuel economy, the hatchback will come standard with a 12V mild hybrid system. Suzuki has dedicated effort to improve the NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) levels by applying sound and vibration adhesive to the underbody for the first time. This application aims to minimize the transmission of noise and vibration into the cabin, especially on uneven roads.
