Kia has unveiled the latest version of Carens in 2024, bringing about numerous enhancements. The South Korean automotive juggernaut has broadened the Carens range by introducing nine new models, totaling the variants to 30. Key modifications include a fresh diesel engine, a range of new features, and a new exterior color. The base model Carens is priced at ₹10.52 lakh (ex-showroom), while the new variants start from ₹12.12 lakh (ex-showroom). The fully-loaded X-Line variant, now upgraded with exclusive features, comes with a price tag of ₹19.67 lakh (ex-showroom).

One of the significant updates in the Kia Carens facelift is the introduction of the new variants. Kia has incorporated a new 1.5-liter diesel engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission in the Carens lineup. This addition has led to the introduction of nine fresh variants spanning across different trims. The new U2 1.5 VGT diesel manual option is available in both six and seven-seat configurations, offered in trims such as Premium, Premium (O), Prestige, Prestige+, Luxury, and Luxury+.

Furthermore, Kia now provides three engine options for the Carens, including a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-liter turbo petrol, and a 1.5-liter diesel unit. The U2 1.5 VGT diesel engine has been upgraded with a new six-speed manual gearbox in addition to the existing six-speed automatic gearbox. This refined engine can generate 113 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque, enhancing the driving experience of the Carens.

In terms of aesthetics, Kia has enriched the exterior color palette for the Carens. The automaker has introduced the Pewter Olive color option across various trims, except for the X-Line variant. This color was initially debuted in the Kia Seltos facelift SUV and is now making its way to the Carens, adding a fresh and distinctive visual appeal to the car’s lineup.Kia Carens customers are now presented with a wider array of choices when it comes to colors, including eight single-tone options, three dual-tone choices, and a unique matte-gray shade exclusively available in the X-Line variant. The X-Line trim of the Carens has been upgraded by Kia to include several new features. Notable additions to this trim consist of a dashcam and the ability to use voice commands to operate all windows. Furthermore, Kia has introduced a seven-seat configuration for the X-Line trim, which was previously only offered with six seats. The Carens X-Line now features a more powerful 180W charger, replacing the previous 120W charger, which is now a standard feature across all variants of the vehicle.

In addition to the enhancements made to the X-Line variant, Kia has also brought new features to other trim levels. The Prestige+ (O) model, which is available with both six-speed automatic and seven-speed DCT gearboxes, now boasts a sunroof, LED Map lamp, and room lamp. The Prestige (O) variant, available in both six-seater and seven-seater configurations, offers amenities such as a leatherette-wrapped gear knob, smart key with push-button start, LED Rear Combination lamp, LED DRLs, and positioning lamp. The Premium (O) trim has been upgraded to include keyless entry, an 8-speaker audio system, mounted controls on the steering wheel, shark fin antenna, burglar alarms, and enhanced safety features.

Regarding pricing, the latest versions of the Carens by Kia start at ₹12.12 lakh (ex-showroom). Following the recent updates, the X-line variant has seen an increase in its starting price, now beginning at ₹19.22 lakh (ex-showroom) and reaching up to ₹19.67 lakh (ex-showroom) for the highest-end model. The entry-level Premium variant, equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and featuring a seven-seat configuration, starts at ₹10.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
