Toyota Kirloskar Motor has recently announced that it intends to raise the prices of certain models starting from April 1, 2024. The automobile manufacturer plans to implement a price increase of up to one percent on specific variants of select cars, citing rising input costs and operational expenses as the reasons behind the decision. This upcoming price adjustment will mark Toyota’s second hike this year, following a price increase that took place across its product lineup in January 2024. The company’s move aligns with Honda Cars India, which also plans to raise prices across its range starting next month.
While the percentage increase may appear modest, it is anticipated to impact popular Toyota models such as the Fortuner, Hilux, Innova Hycross, Innova Crysta, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Glanza. Toyota Kirloskar Motor stated, “With an anticipated 1% increase, the move is attributed to escalating input costs and operational expenditures.” As the new financial year approaches, it is expected that more automakers will follow suit and announce price hikes for their respective product ranges in the near future.
Additionally, Toyota is preparing to introduce a new vehicle based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, scheduled for launch on April 3. The forthcoming model may be named the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor and will factor in the recent price adjustment. Moreover, the automaker is set to introduce the new GX (O) variant for the Innova Hycross petrol, as per the listing on the brand’s website.
