Unveiling the 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class: New Mild-Hybrid Engines and Enhanced Features

Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled the updated 2025 G-Class facelift, featuring significant enhancements for the rugged off-roader. The latest model now boasts mild-hybrid engines throughout the lineup, along with a range of new features and driver assistance systems. The lineup has been revamped to include three variants powered by a straight six petrol or diesel engine, as well as the top-tier AMG model.

The 2025 Mercedes-AMG G63 has undergone revisions and retains the powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine generating 585 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. With the addition of mild-hybrid technology, the performance SUV achieves a slight performance boost, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.2 seconds. The G63 is also equipped with the new Active Ride Control suspension system. On the other hand, the G 550 introduces the Transparent Hood feature, providing a glimpse under the hood for enhanced off-roading capabilities.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz G 500 or G 550 (depending on the market) is outfitted with a new 3.0-liter straight-six turbo petrol engine, replacing the V8 motor from its predecessor. This engine delivers 443 bhp and 560 Nm of torque, while the 48-volt mild-hybrid system provides an additional 20 bhp and 200 Nm for improved performance and efficiency. Compared to the older V8 engine that produced 416 bhp, the new six-cylinder engine offers more power, albeit with a slightly lower peak torque.

Mercedes has also introduced the G 450d to replace the G 400d diesel variant, featuring a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology producing 362 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. Additional upgrades include a new infotainment system with the latest MBUX user interface, wireless charging capabilities, climate-controlled cupholders, and two new 11.6-inch touchscreen displays for rear passengers.
