Force Motors is preparing to launch the highly anticipated Gurkha 5-door variant and has recently released a teaser for the upcoming model. Set to rival the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door, the Force Gurkha 5-door will be an extension of the existing Gurkha 3-door model. The teaser image offers a sneak peek at the longer wheelbase and additional set of doors of the off-roader, retaining its iconic boxy silhouette, ensuring easy recognition. Most design elements of the Gurkha 3-door are expected to carry over to the new 5-door model.
One significant change observed in the teaser is the replacement of the side-facing large rear windows with proper roll-down windows, offering improved comfort for rear passengers. Spy shots have hinted at a redesigned front grille, bumper, and square-shaped headlamps compared to the 3-door model. The interior is likely to see minimal changes, with the addition of a second bench or captain seats and enhanced boot space, catering to family buyers seeking practicality without compromising off-road capabilities.
The Force Gurkha 5-door is anticipated to be powered by the same 2.6-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine generating 91 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and available in rear-wheel drive and 4×4 configurations. Exhibited as the Ksatria SUV at the 2022 Defence Expo in Indonesia, the Gurkha 5-door is expected to be priced slightly higher than its 3-door counterpart. The launch of the Force Gurkha 5-door is projected to take place around mid-2024.
