Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday acted together in the film ‘Gehraiyaan’. Ananya recently shared how this experience with Deepika influenced her way of working.
During a chat at Agenda AajTak, Ananya expressed, “Working on ‘Gehraiyaan’ changed a lot for me. I learned from our director Shakun Batra and also from Deepika to focus more on the process. Now, I follow a much more detailed process when I prepare for my roles.”
She continued, “I prefer going to the set fully prepared. I make sure I know not only my own lines but also those of my co-stars. When I step onto the set, I want to be ready and not worried about my lines or actions. Understanding everything about the character – what they eat, drink, when they sleep – I write their background story, their way of moving, sitting, and everything else even before I start shooting. This gives me the freedom to be spontaneous and improvise while on set.”
In ‘Gehraiyaan’, alongside Ananya and Deepika, were Siddhant Chaturvedi, Dhairya Karwa, Rajat Kapoor, and Naseeruddin Shah. Despite high expectations, the film received mixed reviews from critics. It premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
