Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma recently teamed up for Sujoy Ghosh’s film “Jaane Jaan.” Kareena shared her thoughts on collaborating with these two actors, highlighting their diverse backgrounds. Jaideep admitted that he intentionally kept his distance from Kareena during the entire shoot due to his discomfort with small talk.
In a candid discussion on Netflix’s The Film Actors’ Roundtable 2023, Kareena explained, “Vijay and my chemistry is unique. We’ve never worked together, and we come from different worlds – not in terms of performances but in the circumstances of our lives. We never crossed paths. Somehow, that also added to the performance. They are from NSD, and I am from the K3G school of acting.”
When talking about the final shot of the film, Jaideep shared that he deliberately avoided talking to Kareena throughout the entire film. Sanya Malhotra jokingly inquired if this was just for a specific scene or the whole movie, to which Jaideep confessed, “Entire film. I never told her either. This is the first time I am telling her.”
Kareena recounted a memorable moment during the shoot when she felt a bit overwhelmed after watching Jaideep’s shot. She shared, “Sujoy did my angle first, finished the closeup, and was giving me cues. Suddenly, Sujoy says, ‘Jaideep ka angle lagao,’ and then Jaideep does it. In my 24 years of working, after my shot, I thought, ‘I’ve done it, I’m done, leave it whatever.’ Because I have always been this confident actor. But obviously, the shot happened, and I froze. I was like, ‘I have never seen something like this. I have worked with everyone in this industry. I told Sujoy mera shot phirse lo. I am feeling like faltu.”
Adding more context, the film is an adaptation of the 2005 Japanese novel ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’ by Keigo Higashino, showcasing the depth and diversity of the project.
