Tamil actor Visheshwara Rao passes away at age 64 in Chennai hospital following cancer battle

Renowned Tamil actor Visheshwara Rao, aged 64, passed away at a hospital in Chennai after a prolonged battle with cancer. According to reports from Indian Express, Visheshwara breathed his last at a private medical facility in Chennai on April 2 due to complications arising from cancer. The veteran actor had been undergoing treatment for the illness over the past few years. The final rituals to bid farewell to Visheshwara are scheduled to be held later today. Having kickstarted his acting journey at the tender age of six, Visheshwara graced the silver screen with his presence in around 300 films throughout his illustrious career. Widely acclaimed for his portrayal of supporting characters in Tamil cinema, he notably gained prominence for his role as Laila’s father in the movie Pithamagan starring Suriya, directed by Bala.Visweswara Rao, a versatile actor, is known for portraying various characters in the film industry. He gained fame for his brief role as the annoying shop owner in Madhavan’s Evano Oruvan. Apart from this, he showcased his comedic talent in several Telugu films and took on supporting roles in television serials. Some of the notable films he was a part of include Bhakta Potana, Potti Pleader, Sisindri Chittibabu, and Andala Ramudu.

According to News18, the news of Visweswara Rao’s demise brought many Telugu film industry celebrities together to pay their last respects. Leading personalities such as Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan, and Jr NTR were present to bid farewell to the talented actor. Chiranjeevi honored Visweswara Rao by placing a garland on his casket, while Pawan Kalyan paid his respects with folded hands. Jr NTR was also among those who came to offer their condolences during this somber moment.

Visweswara Rao’s illustrious career included collaborations with esteemed actors like Nageswara Rao, NT Rama Rao, MG Ramachandran, Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, and Pawan Kalyan. He had the privilege of sharing screen space with late chief ministers such as MGR, NTR, and J Jayalalithaa, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances in the world of cinema.
