BJP MLA Mohan Yadav to Take Charge as Madhya Pradesh’s New Chief Minister

Mohan Yadav, aged 58 and a BJP MLA from Ujjain South, is set to become the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, replacing Shivraj Singh Chouhan after the BJP’s significant win in the state’s assembly polls.

There was a lot of talk about who would succeed Chouhan – whether it would be him due to his ‘laadli behna’ scheme or a new face.

Rakesh Singh, an MLA from Jabalpur, mentioned that it was Chouhan who suggested Yadav’s name for the CM role. Singh praised Yadav’s administrative skills and pledged support for the party’s development plans.

Yadav, recognized as an OBC leader, was selected in a meeting in Bhopal attended by central observers, as announced by the BJP.

Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP’s general secretary and MLA, welcomed Yadav’s selection, seeing it as a boost for new energy and development in the state, in line with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for the country.

MLA Govind Singh Rajput from Ujjain expressed pride in Yadav’s appointment, highlighting his strong connection to the people and expressing hope for progress under his leadership.

Before this role, Yadav served as an education minister in Chouhan’s government. He holds a law degree, an MBA, and a PhD, and has received awards for promoting tourism in Madhya Pradesh.

Yadav’s political journey began in college with the ABVP. Over the years, he held various positions in student unions, RSS, and BJP committees, displaying involvement in youth organizations and cultural activities, indicating a diverse engagement in both political and developmental areas.
