iQoo seems to be developing a new smartphone as a follow-up to the iQoo Neo 9 Pro model released earlier this year. A leak from a Chinese source suggests that the upcoming phone could feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the same chip used in the iQoo 12 flagship under the Vivo sub-brand. Although there has been no official confirmation regarding a new Neo-series device, leaked information also sheds light on other potential features of the rumored smartphone, such as its display, camera setup, and fast charging capabilities.
As per the leak by Digital Chat Station, an unnamed smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is expected to sport a 1.5K LPTO AMOLED screen with an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. The handset’s rear panel may be composed of either glass or leather, omitting a plastic frame. Additionally, the device is rumored to house a 50-megapixel primary camera alongside an undisclosed secondary camera, a sizable battery supporting 120W fast charging, a short-focus fingerprint scanner, and an X-axis vibration motor.
Though the initial post on Weibo did not specify the phone’s identity, it was hinted in a subsequent reply that the device could be from either Realme or iQoo. The specifications align closely with those of the iQoo Neo 9 Pro, suggesting a potential successor in the making. Launched in February, the existing Neo 9 Pro boasts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with a Sony IMX920 sensor alongside an 8-megapixel secondary camera.
Furthermore, the iQoo Neo 9 Pro houses a 5,160mAh battery that supports 120W SuperVOOC wired charging. The device incorporates an optical fingerprint scanner for secure authentication and holds an IP54 rating for protection against dust and splash exposure, as per the company’s claims.
