Samsung is set to release the Galaxy Z Flip 6 later this year, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and an affordable Galaxy Z Fold FE. The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip model is expected to feature the same Exynos 2400 processor found in the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ devices in global markets. This chipset is a powerful option for the clamshell-style foldable phone, which is currently the most budget-friendly model in the Galaxy Z series.
According to a tipster named Revegnus, Samsung may opt for the Exynos 2400 processor for the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This chip is similar to the one used in the Galaxy S24 series, except for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Samsung’s decision to use its own Exynos processor in the more affordable Galaxy S24 models suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 could also come equipped with this chip. The Exynos 2400 chip has proven to be competitive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in terms of performance.
The Exynos 2400 processor boasts a high-performance Arm Cortex-X4 core with a peak clock speed of 3.2GHz, along with four Cortex-A720 cores and four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores. This chip is the first from Samsung to incorporate the Fan-out Wafer Level Package (FOWLP), which helps with thermal management to maintain performance over time.
Rumors surrounding the Galaxy Z Flip 6 indicate that it will feature a larger cover display compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The previous model was launched in the latter half of 2023 with a 3.4-inch cover screen. The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 is also expected to come with a bigger battery capacity and up to 12GB of RAM. More details about the device are likely to emerge before its expected release in July.
